Stay Tuned for Tommorrow's Announcement

Current forecasts show the snow ending at 12:00 PM this evening. The highway departments should have ample time to open the roads. In addition to monitoring temperatures, our transportation team will be driving the roads in the morning. If an announcement is needed, it will be on the TV and radio stations shortly after 6 AM.

Oppps, well so much for the idea of the snow ending at 12:00 PM this evening since it will carry on over-night, and it could actually carry over tommorow. It's still going to be amazingly cold, there is a slight possibility of it being as cold as it was this morning although I highly doubt it.

We should at least have word if there is going to be a delay tonight or tommorow that way parents can be sure they can either take in their children or make arrangements. When I am trying to get things ready for school, it's hard to tell whether I am going to have to call someone to come and help transport or if i'll be able to go myself to the school.

Please have a two hour delay because if the roads are bad it is very hard to get into school from out in the country. We have to leave very early and go slow so that leaves room for being tarty.Thank you.

School probably should be cancelled for tomorrow, the rest of the week, and we should maybe think about cancelling for the remainder of the academic year ;)

On my way from driving home from the school area, I was about to turn onto Michigan Street when my car seemed to slide, and if there were other cars around, I could have been in serious trouble. With the weather continuing as it is, it would be very dangerous to have cars and buses travel to school any time soon. Either the roads need to be desperately cleared or we will see something bad tommorow morning on the way to school. The roads are just too bad and the weather is too cold for students to be able to travel to school.

The weather should be back to normal by thursday, but it's still going to continue tommorow and I personally do not want to lose the life of my child or someone elses just because someone couldn't call school off.

Dear Dr. Hill and Dan Tyree,

The roads in the city of Plymouth, Indiana are quite slick still and would be just as slick in the morning when students and parents drive and walk to school not to mention it will still be too cold for a student to be able to wait outside for a bus. I'm not sure what the exact protocol for such weather is around here, but we cannot choose education over health and the life of a student or guardian.

I'm not sure what is currently being debated right now with the weather patterns, but I have checked a few different sources and am very concerned the with well-being of my children as well as the children of the Plymouth Community School Corportation. I believe you would agree with me when I say I do not want to see the life of a child or even an adult to be in jeopardy trying to go to school. I understand that every single child has the right to an education, but when we decide to have school under such conditions, the ones we are trying to protect are the ones that are in danger as a single car crash could steal the life of a child even more rapidly than the life of an adult.

For the sake of the children and even the adults in the area, please at least consider a delay, it could save the life of a child. It would be great to consider taking one last day off since we can easily make it up during more suitable weather, but right now is not the time for a child to be heading to school. I don't want to have to deal with the sadness of someone I know passing away from a passing car going 20 MPH that slide across an icy pathway. Can you understand my concern for the children at this point.

I sincerly hope you will hear my plea and not allow these children to be dangered, at least for one more day. I know this may be asking a lot of you, but from a concerned parent to a concerned parent, please consider my plea.
