Plymouth History Walk

The Plymouth History Walk will be held at Oakhill Cemetery this Sunday, September 26, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The event is free. The walk will start at the west entrance to the cemetery. PHS student, Christina Green, and grad, John Patrick, will be two of the six actors.

Plymouth's Beta Delta chapter of Tri Kappa sorority carefully researches the lives of Plymouth residents buried in the cemetery and re-enacts their biography for a tour group. Teachers and history lovers will get a lot from the performances. Young people interested in local history, research, the 1800s, and the early 20th century might also enjoy coming.

The Marshall County Historical Museum also sponsors this event -- any free-will donations go to the Marshall County Historical Museum. Tours are about 45 minutes long with the last group going out at 5:20 p.m. Golf cart tours are available for the disabled. This year the entire tour is on the paved walkway.

Proposed PCSC Corporation Vision Statement

The Board met in a work session last week to review the mission statement, core values and to craft a vision statement. All administrators, principals, and representatives of the teacher's association were invited to be directly involved in the work session.

Rather that creating a Strategic Plan that collects dust on a shelf, the Plymouth School Board has chosen to plan strategically in order to bring continuous quality improvement to Plymouth Community School Corporation. The first reading of the new Vision Statement was presented at the Board meeting last night. A final version will be voted on during the October 14, 2010 meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Administration Board Room.
