Make-up Times and Dates

In discussion with PEA, children will attend school all day this Friday, weather permitting, and Monday, President's Day. A summary of make-up days is as follows: February 19, April 6, May 25, and May 29. There will be no in service day, Friday, February 16, students will attend school the entire day.

Seems to me the entire PEA membership should have been involved in the decision to go to school on President's Day, especially since the 3:38 p.m. comment from Dan and John yesterday stated it would be a day off.

I want to say that I think it is a great idea that President's Day is now being used as a make up day. We still have alot of winter to go and the last thing I want to see happen is the kids going to school into June. Good job John, Dan and PEA.

Very interesting! Unfortunately, some people have already made travel plans because this was a scheduled day off that would not be changed. I find it very interesting that a comment posted yesterday is so quickly changed after pressure from outside forces, such as PEA. Also interestinly enough, a few PEA members that I have spoken to were not aware that they were the cause of this action. I guess maybe this website should now be called "The Plymouth Sort-Of Truth" What would have happened if I took the post from yesterday as 'truth' and didn't look again today? Get it together. What is one more day before June. Our seasons are already askew. Haven't you noticed that Winter didn't really begin until January?

why we are going all day on friday if it isn't going to count as a make up day?

Friday was a scheduled in-service day. Since students have missed school this week, the in-service can be made up at a later date. In addition, our presenter is stranded in Detroit.

Your response still doesn't address the President's Day issue.

On Monday evening PEA Representatives and the Administration met to discus the use of President's Day as a make-up day. All representatives agreed that we would not use President's Day. After losing the last two days of school, we talked with PEA representatives to once again discuss the use of President's Day. In the best interest of children, we all agreed that we should use President's Day as a make-up day. It is our opinion, that we should always base our decisions on what's best for children, and we salute PEA Leadership for agreeing to this solution.

Will PHS still have an in-service next friday?

Mr. Tobias and the high school staff will review the end of the 2nd trimester and announce if any changes in the schedule will be needed. Stay tuned to the morning announcements at PHS.

make up your minds!!!!! This is pretty late notice and I am sure people already have plans! IF it is marked as a none make up day it should stay that way. We are already going the day after memeorial day so why does it mater.

I feel that if they need to do this than it is no big deal. If someone already has plans that can not be broken than don't break them. I do not feel there is any sense in arguing. When I look at the comments and thought, I feel sorry for John and Dan. I would not want to have their job. Take care everyone!
