Extreme Home Makeover has Plymouth Connection

Jennie (Morris) Wilder( PHS Class of '83), and her husband, Derek Wilder, also a PHS grad, were very involved in the makeover of the home in Bunker Hill, Indiana that will air this Sunday night on ABC.

Derek, employee of Hallmark Homes out of Anderson, was the project manager of the makeover. Besides the construction, they had to recruit all of the volunteers and secure the donation of materials. The mold infested home was demolished and rebuilt in a few days despite lots of rain and mud.

The project was completed in October, and is scheduled to air on January 10.

Alumni vs. PHS Swim Meet for Heminger House

Over Christmas Break, the PHS swim team hosted an “Alumni Meet” inviting all past Plymouth swimmers to battle the current team in a meet that also raised some much needed food items for the Heminger House in Plymouth.

Jack McLiver, volunteer assistant, organized the event that turned out to be a lot of fun and also supported a great cause. Swimmers were asked to provide a participation “fee” of canned goods to be donated to the home for women who are victims of domestic abuse. Judging from the huge turnout, the cause and the camaraderie were a big hit with Plymouth swimmers.

Pictured are the captains of the current PHS Swim Teams:
Allyson Gergely, Morgan Gay, Dani Wise, Riley Senter, Joe Portteus, Kevin Garrity.

The teams and coaches are hoping to make this an annual event.
