Plymouth Rewarded for Support of Music

This week the American Music Conference and NAMM announced the winners of the 11th annual "Best Communities in America for Music Education" and Plymouth was selected as one of two communities from Indiana. West Lafayette was the other.

This is the first time Plymouth has ever received this award. Some of our "high marks" for receiving this award were listed as following:

* ENCORE promotes Fine Arts in Plymouth
*Strong music classes offered in grades 6-12
*HS Band earning a 7th consecutive "All-Music Award" from ISSMA for receiving Gold Awards at every ISSMA event for the school year
*HS Band winning a state championship this winter
*HS Band, Choir and Orchestra working as a "team" effort and combining forces at music events to promote the overall program
*Active music boosters program that raises additional necessary funds
*Youth programs (PCYO) funded through community and grant funding
*Music courses offered at all grade levels K-12 and music teachers working in all corporation buildings
