The girls 5th grade A basketball team won the North Liberty Tournament last Saturday beating LaVille 18-10. To get to the championship, the ladies defeated North Liberty 20-2. All the girls contributed both offensively and defensively in the two big wins! The Lady Rockets are 4-0 on the year. The A team consists of Hanna Hopple, Miranda Southwell, Destiny Schoff, Lanae Singleton, Ashley Harrell, Rachel Hilty, Nicole Horvath, Kennedy Snyder, Erin Hunter, Brittani Splix, Maddie Samuelson, Alli Dennie, and Victoria Styers. The 3-1 Lady Rockets came from behind to make it the most hard fought game of the year. The B Team consists of Alaysha Jackson, Victoria Leazenby, Mackenzie Derifield, Shania Northern, Amber Blissmer, Cassie McPherron, Lexie Stein, Sierra Strickland, Courtney Bradley, Destinee Hartwig, Zoe Keilman, Madison Stevens, and Haley McFarland. Both teams will host a 5th Grade Tournament at Menominee Elementary Saturday, February 27th beginning at 9 am.
