I have been hearing a lot about how there are an excessive number of kids at the high school out sick with flu-like symptoms. What steps are being taken to combat this, and is the school going to close?
There were a few days before break where we saw 15% of our students absent with flu-like symptoms. Those numbers are down significantly after fall break.
The best situation for all right now is to keep school open. We are in contact with the health department every on a consistent basis.
We are cleaning very carefully many times a day. We are also monitoring flu-safe habits for students in school such as washing your hands and coughing or sneezing into your own elbow.
