I am the parent of a first grader and soon to be kindegartner. At first I was against the full day kindergarten plan. I felt that I wanted my children to stay at home as long as possible. Now I am a strong supporter of full day kindegarten. I came to this decision during my sons first year of school. I felt that his school days were rushed and that he had little time to learn and adjust to the social expectations and manurisms of school. I am a strong believer that these skills help foster a student's academic achievment and ensure that learning will be a postive experience.
